{"id":5951,"date":"2026-07-15T09:18:10","date_gmt":"2026-07-15T09:18:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/paksouch.com\/?p=5951"},"modified":"2026-07-15T09:18:10","modified_gmt":"2026-07-15T09:18:10","slug":"court-issues-notices-to-maulana-fazlur-rehman-on-plea-seeking-fir-over-speech-about-military","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/paksouch.com\/?p=5951","title":{"rendered":"Court Issues Notices to Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Plea Seeking FIR Over Speech About Military"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>GUJRANWALA:<\/strong> A local court has issued notices to <strong>Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman<\/strong> and the <strong>Station House Officer (SHO) of Civil Lines Police Station<\/strong> on a petition seeking the registration of a criminal case over the cleric\u2019s recent speech concerning the military.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The application was filed by <strong>Advocate Manzoor Qadir Bhinder<\/strong>, requesting the court to direct police to register a First Information Report (FIR) against the JUI-F leader over what the petitioner described as a controversial speech.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additional Sessions Judge <strong>Faisal Jameel<\/strong> heard the petition and issued notices to both the SHO and Maulana Fazlur Rehman, directing them to appear or respond on <strong>July 28<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The court also instructed the police to submit a report on the matter at the next hearing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the petition, the applicant has asked the court to order the registration of an FIR based on remarks made by Maulana Fazlur Rehman during a recent speech.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The JUI-F chief\u2019s comments have drawn criticism from several political leaders and religious figures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pakistan Ulema Council Chairman <strong>Allama Tahir Ashrafi<\/strong> condemned the remarks, stating that he apologized to the families of the country&#8217;s martyrs over the statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier, <strong>Defence Minister Khawaja Asif<\/strong>, <strong>Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal<\/strong>, <strong>MQM-Pakistan Chairman Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui<\/strong>, and the <strong>PTI chairman<\/strong> also reacted to the speech, saying that linking the sacrifices of fallen security personnel to their salaries was inappropriate and unfair to the martyrs and their families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The court proceedings at this stage relate to the petition seeking the registration of a case.
