PESHAWAR:<\/strong> Three senior officials of the Galiyat Development Authority (GDA)<\/strong> have reportedly requested transfers following concerns over the conduct of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister’s Special Assistant for Tourism, Adil Iqbal<\/strong>, during a recent visit to the Galiyat region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to sources, Adil Iqbal visited Galiyat a few days ago to review tourism-related matters and public complaints. During the visit, his interaction with GDA officials was described by the sources as inappropriate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sources also claimed that videos from the visit were later shared on social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the incident, three senior GDA officials reportedly submitted transfer requests to the Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa<\/strong>. Those seeking transfers include Director General Muhammad Fahad<\/strong>, Director Administration Noor-ul-Haq<\/strong>, and Director Building Control Farrukh Jadun<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the transfer application, recent public statements and social media publicity surrounding the field visit had negatively affected the institution’s working environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The officials also stated that legal and administrative uncertainties were affecting the authority’s ability to function effectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the application emphasized that the transfer request was not the result of a single incident<\/strong>, but was based on personal reasons. The officials requested that they be posted to suitable positions elsewhere in the interest of better public service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The application further noted that the Galiyat Development Authority had introduced several important institutional reforms over the past six months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Responding to the reports in an interview with Geo News<\/strong>, Adil Iqbal<\/strong> said his visit to Galiyat was prompted by public complaints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He stated that, in accordance with the directives of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s government<\/strong> (or as reported, the chief minister’s instructions), action would be taken against encroachments in the Galiyat area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The special assistant also said the provincial government would conduct a high-level inquiry into illegal constructions<\/strong> in Galiyat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that anyone found responsible for unauthorized construction would face legal action.
