Abu Dhabi:<\/strong> Authorities in Abu Dhabi have introduced special license plates for autonomous (driverless) vehicles as part of efforts to support the growing use and testing of self-driving technology across the emirate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Abu Dhabi officials, the newly introduced license plates will make it easier to distinguish between autonomous vehicles operating commercially and those being used for testing purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the new system, commercially operated autonomous vehicles will display license plates marked “Auto Drive,”<\/strong> while vehicles participating in testing and trial programs will carry plates labeled “Test.”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The special license plates have been designed with a blue color scheme<\/strong>, allowing law enforcement agencies, road users, and traffic authorities to identify driverless vehicles more easily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officials said the initiative is intended to improve road monitoring, strengthen traffic safety measures, and facilitate the safe integration of autonomous vehicles into Abu Dhabi’s transportation network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
