KARACHI:<\/strong> A judicial magistrate in Karachi has disposed of an application filed by Anmol, also known as “Pinky,”<\/strong> who is facing trial in a drug smuggling case, after prison authorities clarified the facilities being provided to her in jail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hearing was held before the Judicial Magistrate (South), where the accused had challenged the alleged lack of access to basic facilities during her detention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the proceedings, the Superintendent of the Karachi Women’s Jail appeared before the court to respond to the allegations raised in the application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The court sought an explanation from the jail administration regarding claims that the accused had not been provided with necessary medicines and appropriate clothing while in custody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response, the Women’s Jail Superintendent informed the court that there was no restriction preventing the accused from wearing ordinary clothes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The accused may have normal clothes sent to her and wear them in jail. We have no objection,” the superintendent told the court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing concerns about medical treatment, the jail official stated that Anmol is receiving ongoing medical care through Civil Hospital Karachi<\/strong>. She further explained that all medicines prescribed by doctors at the hospital are being provided to the accused in accordance with medical recommendations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the superintendent, the prison administration is complying with the treatment plan advised by Civil Hospital physicians and ensuring that the inmate receives the prescribed medication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After hearing the explanation from the jail authorities, the court concluded that the issues raised in the application had been adequately addressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Judicial Magistrate subsequently disposed of the application seeking jail facilities for the accused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anmol, popularly known as “Pinky,” is currently facing legal proceedings in connection with a drug smuggling case. Earlier, the court had fixed a date for the framing of charges against her, while investigators have also examined her financial records, including details related to a bank account that had reportedly been closed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
