The missing aircraft has been identified as K2 Airways Flight KTA1732<\/strong>, a Boeing 737-400<\/strong> registered as AP-BOI<\/strong>, operating a cargo flight from Sharjah to Karachi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Navigation Problem Reported Before Contact Was Lost<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

According to the PAA spokesperson, at 9:18 p.m.<\/strong>, while flying on air route G216<\/strong>, approximately 150 nautical miles south of Karachi<\/strong>, the flight crew informed Karachi Area Control Centre (ACC)<\/strong> that the aircraft was experiencing a navigation system malfunction<\/strong> and requested guidance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air traffic controllers instructed the crew to maintain their current heading while assistance was being provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moments later, controllers observed the aircraft making an unexpected right turn<\/strong> while rapidly losing altitude<\/strong>. Data indicated a descent rate of approximately 15,000 feet per minute<\/strong>, suggesting a serious in-flight emergency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite repeated attempts by air traffic controllers to re-establish communication, no response was received from the cockpit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At 9:21 p.m.<\/strong>, when the aircraft was approximately 155 nautical miles west of Karachi<\/strong>, it disappeared from radar. Both radar tracking and radio communications<\/strong> were lost simultaneously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No Mayday Distress Call Received<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Speaking to Geo News<\/strong>, an air traffic controller confirmed that the pilot did not transmit a Mayday distress call<\/strong> before contact was lost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officials believe the crew may have encountered a sudden emergency that left them with insufficient time to declare an emergency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Search and Rescue Operation Underway<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Immediately after the aircraft disappeared, the Pakistan Airports Authority<\/strong> activated the Rescue Coordination Centre (RCC)<\/strong> and launched a search and rescue mission over the Arabian Sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The operation involves several national agencies working together to locate the missing aircraft and its crew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to official sources, the Pakistan Navy<\/strong> has deployed the warships PNS Zulfiqar<\/strong> and PNS Hunain<\/strong> to the suspected search area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
