LAHORE: The Punjab government has appointed new chairpersons for nine Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISEs) across the province on an 18-month deputation, according to a notification issued by the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The appointments, effective from July 1, 2026, will remain in force until December 31, 2027, under the Punjab Deputation Policy, 1998.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Under the reshuffle, Dr Badar-ul-Islam, a BS-21 professor at Khawaja Fareed University of Engineering and Information Technology in Rahim Yar Khan, has been appointed chairperson of the Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prof Dr Abdul Rauf, a BS-21 professor at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, has been posted as chairperson of the Dera Ghazi Khan board, while Dr Aqsa Shabbir, a BS-20 associate professor at Lahore College for Women University, has been appointed to head the Gujranwala board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr Rana Binyamin, who was serving as chairman and associate professor at Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture, Multan, has been appointed chairperson of the Faisalabad board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Iqbal Mahmood, a BS-20 principal at Government Graduate College Abdullah Pur in Faisalabad, has been named chairperson of the Rawalpindi board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr Ijaz Ahmad, a BS-20 associate professor at the University of Education, Lahore, has been appointed chairperson of the Multan board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Abbas Haider, a BS-19 director in the Intelligence Bureau, has been posted as chairperson of the Sargodha board, while Ishtiaq Ahmad, a BS-19 director (information technology) at the University of Sargodha, has been appointed chairperson of the Bahawalpur board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Faisal Ijaz, a BS-19 additional controller of examinations at the University of Gujrat who is currently serving as controller of examinations at the Information Technology University in Lahore, has been appointed chairperson of the Sahiwal board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The notification said that all nine appointments had been made on deputation under standard terms and conditions of the Punjab Deputation Policy, 1998.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It also said that the newly appointed chairpersons would be entitled to a special \u201cChairman BISE Allowance\u201d equal to one initial basic pay of their respective pay scales, in line with a provincial cabinet decision approved in December 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education are responsible for conducting secondary and higher secondary examinations, announcing results and overseeing affiliated educational institutions in their respective jurisdictions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
