Authorities confiscated counterfeit medicines being sold for the treatment of <strong>fever, body pain, bacterial infections, ulcers, and anxiety<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During raids, provincial drug control departments recovered <strong>10 fake medicines<\/strong> from various markets. DRAP, acting on the request of provincial health departments, has issued urgent alerts to warn the public and healthcare professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The seized items include <strong>fake antibiotics, nasal sprays, anti-allergy drugs, gastrointestinal medicines, and diuretics<\/strong>. DRAP has confirmed that counterfeit diuretics, used to remove excess water from the body, have tested fake in drug testing laboratories. Officials warned that using such medicines can be <strong>potentially life-threatening<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The alert stated that these counterfeit medicines are falsely branded under the names of <strong>national and multinational companies<\/strong>, with fake addresses of companies in <strong>Karachi and Kasur<\/strong> printed on labels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Examples of identified counterfeit batches include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Azomax 500mg tablets<\/strong> (Batch C1699) \u2013 used for pneumonia, throat, and skin infections.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Clarith-SR 500mg tablets<\/strong> (Batch 722269XV) \u2013 used for pneumonia, lung, and throat infections.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Dietron tablets<\/strong> (Batch DIT) \u2013 diuretics for water removal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Leventos tablets 375mg (Batch LF2) and 625mg (Batches LF2, LF4)<\/strong> \u2013 for bacterial infections.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sulfera suspension 1g\/5ml (Batch SL6)<\/strong> \u2013 for intestinal ulcers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fevron nasal spray 50mcg (Batch NF4)<\/strong> \u2013 for allergies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Droxil capsules 500mg (Batch RC5)<\/strong> \u2013 for bacterial infections.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Broms tablets 3mg (Batch 0007)<\/strong> \u2013 for anxiety treatment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>DRAP confirmed that under <strong>Drug Act 1976, Section 3<\/strong>, these medicines are classified as counterfeit.
