ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Customs collected a record Rs467 billion in import-related taxes in June, exceeding its monthly duty target by 10 per cent, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to an FBR statement, total import tax collection rose 33 per cent from Rs350.3 billion in June last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCustoms duty collection reached Rs158 billion, up 24 per cent from Rs127 billion a year earlier. The collection exceeded the highest-ever monthly target of Rs144 billion, achieving 110 per cent of the goal despite tariff rationalisation measures,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For the fiscal year 2025-26, Pakistan Customs collected Rs4.692 trillion in total import-related taxes, an increase of 13.6 per cent from Rs4.131 trillion in the previous fiscal year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The statement said that annual customs duty collection stood at Rs1.331 trillion, up 4 per cent year-on-year and equivalent to 99 per cent of the annual target.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Revenue from the Petroleum Development Levy (PDL) on imports increased 20 per cent to Rs752 billion, compared with Rs628 billion in the previous fiscal year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
FBR Chairman Rashid Mahmood Langrial said exceeding the monthly target reflected the tax authority\u2019s efforts to facilitate trade while improving revenue collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis outstanding performance is a testament to the efficiency, transparency and digital transformation initiatives undertaken by Pakistan Customs,\u201d Member Customs Operations Syed Shakeel Shah said in the statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
