A fire broke out at a Sunday Bazaar in Sector H-9 on Tuesday, engulfing more than 70 stalls and prompting a large-scale rescue and firefighting operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the District Administration, rescue teams reached the site immediately after the incident was reported, with at least four rescue teams taking part in the operation to control the blaze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Officials said the fire spread rapidly through the bazaar, affecting nine sections in total. So far, six sections have been brought under control, while efforts are ongoing to extinguish the remaining three.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The administration confirmed that approximately 75 percent of the fire has been controlled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Upon receiving reports of the fire, the concerned Assistant Commissioner immediately reached the spot to supervise rescue and relief operations. Rescue 1122 teams from Rawalpindi also joined the firefighting efforts to assist local emergency responders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Authorities said investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire. They added that action has been taken against the use of LPG cylinders in the market area, with a strict ban already imposed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The District Administration noted that routine operations against LPG cylinder usage are being conducted, and just a day earlier, nine individuals, including shopkeepers, were arrested for violating safety regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
