Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, during which the two leaders discussed the ongoing Iran-US peace process and reaffirmed their commitment to promoting regional peace and stability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office spokesperson, Ishaq Dar congratulated Wang Yi on the 105th anniversary of the Communist Party of China and conveyed Pakistan’s best wishes on the occasion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The two foreign ministers reviewed progress in the Iran-US peace process and discussed the high-level talks held in Bergenstock under the mediation efforts of Pakistan and Qatar. Dar briefed his Chinese counterpart on the work of the high-level committee established under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding to facilitate dialogue between the two sides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the conversation, Dar explained that three working groups had been formed to address key issues, including the nuclear file, sanctions, monitoring mechanisms and dispute resolution. He expressed hope that these groups would help the parties reach a final agreement within the next 60 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The deputy prime minister appreciated China’s consistent support for the peace process and acknowledged Beijing’s backing of President Xi Jinping’s four-point peace plan as well as the Pakistan-China five-point peace initiative aimed at fostering dialogue and stability in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, Wang Yi congratulated Pakistan’s leadership on the successful completion of the Iran-US mediation process and the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding. He praised Pakistan’s continued efforts to promote peace and stability through active mediation and sustained diplomatic engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Chinese foreign minister also reiterated China’s unwavering support for Pakistan’s mediation efforts and stressed the importance of resolving disputes through peaceful means in accordance with the principles of the United Nations Charter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close cooperation in support of a negotiated settlement between the concerned parties.
