Pakistan and the United States have agreed to expand cooperation in the maritime sector and establish a joint working group to promote bilateral collaboration in maritime development, trade, investment and logistics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The understanding was reached during a meeting between US Charge d\u2019Affaires Natalie A. Baker and Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Junaid Anwar Chaudhry in Islamabad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the meeting, the two sides discussed opportunities for strengthening economic ties through enhanced cooperation in ports, maritime infrastructure and logistics. Both countries agreed that closer collaboration in the maritime sector could contribute significantly to trade growth and regional connectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking on the occasion, Junaid Anwar Chaudhry invited American investors to explore opportunities in Pakistan\u2019s maritime infrastructure and logistics sectors. He said Pakistan welcomes US partnership in the blue economy and is seeking greater global cooperation for the development of its port sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The minister emphasized that increased US investment in Pakistan\u2019s maritime industry could further strengthen bilateral economic relations and create new avenues for trade and commercial cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Natalie A. Baker reaffirmed the United States\u2019 commitment to deepening economic engagement with Pakistan and expressed interest in expanding maritime development initiatives and partnerships between the two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The US diplomat also acknowledged Pakistan\u2019s important role in promoting regional peace and stability, describing it as valuable for the broader region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both sides agreed that enhanced Pakistan-US cooperation in maritime development, trade and investment would contribute to stronger economic relations and mutual prosperity. The newly established joint working group is expected to identify practical areas of collaboration and facilitate future projects in the maritime sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting reflects growing efforts by both countries to broaden economic cooperation and explore new opportunities for partnership in strategic sectors, including ports, shipping, logistics and the blue economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
