He argued that the city\u2019s rapidly expanding population requires a much larger and more efficient transport network than what currently exists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Daniyal Ahmed, <strong>Karachi needs around 15,000 buses<\/strong> to adequately serve its residents, but the government has so far provided only <strong>2,000 buses<\/strong>, leaving a significant gap between public demand and available transportation facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He further alleged that governance in Sindh reflects a centralized and unequal system, claiming that ordinary citizens are not receiving the benefits they deserve from public resources and development initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Referring to a provincial scheme involving electric scooters, the MQM leader questioned its scale and effectiveness, saying that only <strong>1,000 scooters<\/strong> had been distributed in a province with a population of approximately <strong>60 million people<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Daniyal Ahmed maintained that such measures are insufficient to address the transportation and mobility challenges faced by millions of residents across Sindh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The remarks came during discussions on the provincial budget, where opposition members scrutinized the government&#8217;s performance in key sectors, including infrastructure, transport, water supply, and public service delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The K-IV project, designed to enhance Karachi\u2019s water supply system, has faced multiple delays over the years due to funding, technical, and administrative challenges.
