{"id":3640,"date":"2026-06-20T10:19:57","date_gmt":"2026-06-20T10:19:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/paksouch.com\/?p=3640"},"modified":"2026-06-20T10:19:57","modified_gmt":"2026-06-20T10:19:57","slug":"ppp-leader-neer-bokhari-alleges-irregularities-in-gilgit-baltistan-political-process","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/paksouch.com\/?p=3640","title":{"rendered":"PPP Leader Neer Bokhari Alleges Irregularities in Gilgit-Baltistan Political Process"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Gilgit-Baltistan:<\/strong> Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader <strong>Neyar Hussain Bokhari<\/strong> has alleged that efforts are being made to block his party\u2019s political path in Gilgit-Baltistan, claiming that administrative and electoral matters in the region are not being handled in accordance with constitutional and legal requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking to the media, Neer Bokhari said that PPP currently holds a strengthened position in the region following the inclusion of independent lawmakers, bringing the party\u2019s total strength to <strong>12 seats<\/strong> in the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He further stated that the <strong>Supreme Appellate Court bench<\/strong> has suspended the orders of two PPP successful candidates and fixed <strong>July 2<\/strong> as the next hearing date in the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The PPP leader alleged that discrepancies were observed in the electoral process, including issues related to postal ballot counting. He claimed that a PPP candidate who had initially won was later defeated without fulfilling proper legal requirements, and that a Form-49 was issued to the rival candidate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also raised concerns over delays in official procedures, stating that under election laws, the official gazette notification must be issued within 14 days of polling, but it has not yet been published.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Neer Bokhari further alleged that before the issuance of the official gazette, the Chief Election Commissioner had prematurely recognized an independent candidate as a member of the IIP, calling it an \u201cearly decision\u201d that raises legal questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said that such developments indicate that processes in Gilgit-Baltistan are not being conducted strictly in accordance with constitutional and legal frameworks, and claimed that attempts are being made to restrict PPP\u2019s political space in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite these challenges, he expressed confidence that the PPP is in a strong position to form the government in Gilgit-Baltistan. He stated that including reserved and technocrat seats, the party holds a clear majority of <strong>17 to 19 seats<\/strong>, and will ultimately succeed in forming the government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cInshaAllah, the Pakistan Peoples Party will form the government in Gilgit-Baltistan,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Neer Bokhari also revealed that representatives of the IIP have held meetings with PPP leadership, seeking ministries in exchange for support in government formation.
