dissatisfied\u201d with a U.S. move to add several large Chinese companies \u200bto the Pentagon\u2019s list of firms it says are aiding \u200cChina\u2019s military, the commerce ministry said on Saturday.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The foreign ministry has also expressed concern about the U.S. Defense Department\u2019s long-awaited update to its \u200blist on Monday, which included such top technology names \u200bas e-commerce giant Alibaba, internet search provider Baidu, and \u2060automakers BYD and NIO<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The list also includes the world\u2019s largest \u200bsolar panel makers: Trina Solar and JA Solar Technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The list includes \u200ba broad swathe of China\u2019s top technology firms key to advancing Beijing\u2019s military and industrial prowess, reflecting Washington\u2019s security concerns amid intense geopolitical competition \u200bbetween the countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cChina is strongly dissatisfied and firmly opposes this,\u201d \u200bthe commerce ministry said in a statement. \u201cChina urges the U.S. to immediately \u200cstop \u2060its erroneous practices, immediately withdraw relevant measures and return to the correct track of building a constructive strategic and stable China-U.S. relationship.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If Chinese firms are not treated fairly, it said, Beijing \u200bwill \u201cinevitably retaliate resolutely \u200band forcefully\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Pentagon \u2060update supersedes a list from early 2025 and comes a month after Presidents Donald Trump \u200band Xi Jinping met in Beijing and maintained \u200ba delicate \u2060trade-war truce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ministry statement said the Pentagon\u2019s move \u201cignored the consensus\u201d reached between the two leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Under U.S. law, the Defense Department will \u2060be prohibited \u200bfrom contracting directly with companies on \u200bthe
