{"id":3319,"date":"2026-06-14T08:47:32","date_gmt":"2026-06-14T08:47:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/paksouch.com\/?p=3319"},"modified":"2026-06-14T08:47:32","modified_gmt":"2026-06-14T08:47:32","slug":"jis-hafiz-naeem-announces-protest-drive-against-budget","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/paksouch.com\/?p=3319","title":{"rendered":"JI&#8217;s Hafiz Naeem announces protest drive against budget"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>LAHORE: Jamaat Islami chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman on Sunday rejected the federal budget and announced to launch a protest movement against it.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Talking to media Hafiz Naeem said that the people have paid over 8,000 billion rupees for the Petroleum Development Levy (PDL) during last 25 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said that this levy being used to fill the gap of targets not being achieved by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hafiz Naeem further said that the IPPs being paid Rs 1800 billion capacity charges in a year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said the country\u2019s debt has piled up to Rs 85,000 billion and Rs 8054 billion interest will be paid over the debt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">JI chief demanded ban over the payment of petroleum levy, capacity charges and development funds to the parliamentarians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also stressed a ban over the government vehicles above 1200 CC.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: Jamaat Islami chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman on Sunday rejected the federal budget and announced to launch a protest movement against it.
