ISLAMABAD:<\/strong> Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has once again invited opposition parties to engage in dialogue and work towards a Charter of Democracy<\/strong> and a Charter of Economy<\/strong>, stressing the need for political unity and national consensus on key issues facing Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing the National Assembly, the prime minister emphasized the importance of national cohesion, particularly in light of recent security challenges and the sacrifices made by members of the armed forces in the fight against terrorism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tribute to Fallen Security Personnel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

During his speech, Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to security personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Referring to a recent terrorist incident, he said that 22 soldiers and officers were martyred three days ago<\/strong>, sacrificing their lives to protect the nation and its people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The prime minister remarked that members of the armed forces often leave behind grieving families and young children while serving the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOfficers and soldiers leave their own children orphaned so that millions of children across Pakistan can remain safe,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He urged lawmakers and the nation to honor the sacrifices of the martyrs and their families, adding that many young children of the fallen personnel may not yet fully understand the loss of their fathers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe must respect these sacrifices and pay tribute to those who have given their lives for Pakistan,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Invitation to Opposition for National Dialogue<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The prime minister used the occasion to renew his appeal to opposition parties for constructive engagement and cooperation on matters of national importance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He called on political stakeholders to move beyond partisan differences and work together for the country’s progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLet us move toward a Charter of Economy and a Charter of Democracy,\u201d Shehbaz Sharif said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commitment to Balanced Provincial Development<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Shehbaz Sharif also highlighted the federal government’s commitment to ensuring equitable development across all provinces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said that promoting balanced growth in every part of the country is among the prime minister\u2019s core responsibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe equal development of all four provinces is my responsibility as prime minister,\u201d he told the House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He noted that he had repeatedly advocated for a Charter of Democracy and maintained that any sacrifice made for the betterment of Pakistan would be worthwhile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Remarks on Provincial Rights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The prime minister referred to comments made by the opposition leader regarding provincial economic resources and acknowledged that provinces have legitimate rights over their resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He stated that there should be no disagreement on the principle that provinces deserve a fair share of economic benefits generated within their territories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Shehbaz Sharif, the federal government recognizes the constitutional rights of provinces and supports arrangements that ensure local populations benefit from development projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reko Diq Agreement Cited as Example<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

While discussing provincial participation in national development, the prime minister cited the Reko Diq mining project<\/strong> in Balochistan as an example.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said the agreement related to the project clearly outlines the share allocated to the people of Balochistan and that these details are publicly available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cRead the Reko Diq agreement. The shares of the people of Balochistan in the project are a shining example,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He emphasized that the provincial stake in the project is transparent and not hidden from the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reko Diq is one of the world’s largest undeveloped copper and gold deposits and is expected to play a major role in Pakistan\u2019s future economic development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Increase in Balochistan\u2019s NFC Share<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The prime minister also highlighted steps taken in the past to strengthen Balochistan\u2019s financial position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He noted that under the 2010 National Finance Commission (NFC) Award<\/strong>, Balochistan\u2019s share was increased significantly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Shehbaz Sharif, the province\u2019s share was raised by 100 percent<\/strong>, reflecting national recognition of Balochistan\u2019s development needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He described the increase not as a favor but as a rightful measure for a province that holds great strategic and economic importance for Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBalochistan is a beautiful province of Pakistan with brave and proud people,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He further noted that Punjab and Sindh had contributed to arrangements that enabled greater financial support for Balochistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Development Projects in Balochistan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The prime minister highlighted several development initiatives underway in the province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He stated that farmers in Balochistan have been provided solar panels worth Rs75 billion<\/strong>, aimed at reducing agricultural energy costs and improving productivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also referred to major infrastructure projects intended to improve connectivity and economic opportunities in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the prime minister, construction is progressing on the road linking Gwadar and Chaman<\/strong>, which is being developed to modern highway standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said approximately Rs300 billion<\/strong> is being spent on the project, which is expected to enhance transportation, facilitate trade, and improve access to remote areas of the province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Call for Unity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Concluding his remarks, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated that Pakistan\u2019s future depends on cooperation, democratic continuity, and collective efforts to address national challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
