{"id":3063,"date":"2026-06-08T10:40:15","date_gmt":"2026-06-08T10:40:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/paksouch.com\/?p=3063"},"modified":"2026-06-08T10:40:15","modified_gmt":"2026-06-08T10:40:15","slug":"supreme-court-commutes-womans-life-sentence-to-14-years-in-husband-murder-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/paksouch.com\/?p=3063","title":{"rendered":"Supreme Court Commutes Woman\u2019s Life Sentence to 14 Years in Husband Murder Case"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Islamabad<\/strong> \u2013 The Supreme Court of Pakistan has converted the life imprisonment sentence of a woman convicted of killing her husband after alleged domestic violence into a 14-year prison term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A three-member bench headed by Justice Hashim Kakar heard the appeal related to the murder case. During the proceedings, the defence counsel argued that the husband was unemployed and had subjected his wife to repeated violence, forcing her to demand financial help from her parents. It was further stated that the convict\u2019s mother had been supporting the couple financially, but on the last occasion refused to provide money, which allegedly led to a violent incident in which the husband was attacked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The defence maintained that the accused acted in response to threats to her dignity and safety. It was also informed to the court that the convict has already been in jail since 2016 and has served nearly 10 years of imprisonment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the other hand, the prosecution argued that the woman had struck her husband on the head, resulting in his death.
