She added that MQM should not forget its past role, claiming that when the party held authority, Karachi’s infrastructure and planning systems were severely damaged.

She further remarked that “the people are now aware and politically mature,” and said that repeated allegations and political rhetoric would not influence public opinion anymore. According to her, MQM’s traditional style of politics based on accusations has lost relevance in today’s Karachi.

The spokesperson alleged that MQM’s leadership had spent years in federal government but failed to secure meaningful development projects or financial resources for Karachi. She questioned why the party did not ensure adequate federal funds for local institutions like the KMC during its time in power.

Sadia Javed also claimed that Karachi’s residents are fully aware of the historical performance of different political parties, and that the city has moved beyond what she described as politics of division, fear, and “linguistic polarization.”

Defending the provincial government, she said that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) had restored peace in Karachi by eliminating what she called “extortion networks and mafias.” She alleged that certain elements associated with MQM were attempting to revive disruptive politics but warned that any attempt to disturb law and order would be dealt with strictly under the law.

Referring to recent disputes over Hill Park and other public recreational spaces, she said that no illegal activity would be allowed on government land. She added that all public parks and civic spaces would be protected and that legal action would be taken against encroachments regardless of political affiliation.

Sadia Javed also criticized MQM leaders over past incidents in Karachi’s political history, accusing them of attempting to rebrand themselves despite what she described as a controversial legacy. She said that Karachi’s infrastructure development and urban forestry projects under the PPP were visible evidence of progress.

Concluding her remarks, she stated that the era of politics based on accusations and division has ended, and that future decisions regarding Karachi will be based on performance and merit. She also rejected the idea of placing Karachi under federal control, calling such suggestions unrealistic.

The exchange highlights ongoing political tensions between PPP and MQM in Sindh, particularly over governance, urban development, and control of municipal land in Karachi.

KARACHI: Sindh government spokesperson Sadia Javed has strongly reacted to MQM Pakistan leader Farooq Sattar’s recent press conference, saying that the people of Karachi have..

[3

post-2635","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-pakistan
https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/434966_3302748_updates-1.jpg",700,400,false
https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/434966_3302748_updates-1-150x150.jpg",150,150,true
https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/434966_3302748_updates-1-300x171.jpg",300,171,true
https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/434966_3302748_updates-1.jpg",700,400,false
https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/434966_3302748_updates-1.jpg",700,400,false],"1536x1536":["https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/434966_3302748_updates-1.jpg",700,400,false],"2048x2048":["https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/434966_3302748_updates-1.jpg",700,400,false
admin
["GET
