{"id":2334,"date":"2026-05-29T07:40:37","date_gmt":"2026-05-29T07:40:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/paksouch.com\/?p=2334"},"modified":"2026-05-29T07:40:37","modified_gmt":"2026-05-29T07:40:37","slug":"youm-e-takbeer-marks-defining-moment-in-pakistans-nuclear-history-says-pm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/paksouch.com\/?p=2334","title":{"rendered":"Youm-e-Takbeer marks defining moment in Pakistan&#8217;s nuclear history, says PM"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">India acted with \u201cwar hysteria\u201d and expansionism in 1998, and Pakistan responded with wisdom, resolve and timely action: PM<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.geo.tv\/assets\/uploads\/updates\/2026-05-28\/666335_4422764_updates.jpg\" alt=\"Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif addresses the nation in Islamabad, on August 13, 2022. \u2014 Prime Ministers Office\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif addresses the nation in Islamabad, on August 13, 2022. \u2014 Prime Minister&#8217;s Office<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>PM says nuclear deterrence remains key barrier against hostile designs.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Reaffirms commitment to defend sovereignty and territorial integrity.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Warns against hostile elements, proxy networks targeting security.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, in his message on Youm-e-Takbeer (May 28, 2026), said the day marks \u201ca defining moment in Pakistan\u2019s history when the entire nation demonstrated unwavering resolve, national unity, and extraordinary courage by emerging as a nuclear power.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said that on May&nbsp;28, 1998, in response to India\u2019s nuclear tests, Pakistan successfully conducted nuclear tests, which \u201cnot only restored the strategic balance in South Asia but also sent a clear message to the world that Pakistan would never compromise on its defence and sovereignty.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The prime minister said the day \u201cstands as testimony that the defence of the God-gifted nation envisioned by Allama Muhammad Iqbal and founded by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah remains in strong and secure hands.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Paying tribute to those involved in the nuclear programme, he said they included the \u201cvisionary leadership of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, the resolute decision-making and courageous leadership of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, and our national heroes Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan and Dr. Samar Mubarakmand,\u201d along with \u201ccountless scientists, engineers, experts, members of the Armed Forces, and dedicated workers whose contributions made Pakistan\u2019s defence impregnable.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said India carried out nuclear tests driven by \u201cwar hysteria, extremist thinking, and expansionist ambitions,\u201d adding that Pakistan responded with \u201cwisdom and resolve, crushing the enemy\u2019s designs through timely and decisive action.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite international pressure, economic coercion, threats of sanctions, and financial incentives, he said: \u201cPrime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif remained steadfast and refused to compromise on Pakistan\u2019s freedom, dignity, and sovereignty.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said Youm-e-Takbeer symbolises \u201cnational self-respect, unity, sacrifice, and the unshakeable commitment to the defence of the homeland,\u201d adding that Pakistan\u2019s nuclear deterrence \u201cremains a decisive barrier against hostile ambitions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Referring to recent developments, he said that through \u201cresolute response to enemy aggression during Maarka-e-Haq,\u201d Pakistan once again demonstrated unity. He said India staged the \u201cPahalgam false flag operation\u201d and used it to attack civilians and mosques, but \u201cour Armed Forces and the nation stood united like Bunyan-un-Marsoos, not only defeating the enemy\u2019s objectives but also shattering its arrogance regarding military and numerical superiority.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He praised the leadership of the armed forces, saying that under Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the forces displayed \u201cexemplary professionalism and operational excellence.\u201d At the same time, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar and Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf \u201cfurther reinforced Pakistan\u2019s strength and valour.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said Pakistan has made it clear that it \u201charbours no aggressive intentions; however, we fully reserve the right to defend our homeland.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He added that after its \u201chumiliating defeat in Maarka-e-Haq,\u201d the enemy has resorted to proxy networks, naming \u201cFitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan,\u201d allegedly facilitated by the Afghan regime.
