KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has warned that temperatures in Sindh may rise up to 50 degrees Celsius as a severe heatwave continues to intensify across the province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the Met Office, a high-pressure system currently present over upper atmospheric levels in Sindh is expected to strengthen further from tomorrow, leading to persistent moderate to severe heatwave conditions in most districts until May 31.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Officials said the intensifying weather system is likely to keep daytime temperatures significantly above normal, creating harsh and potentially dangerous conditions, especially in urban and rural areas already affected by extreme heat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The PMD has urged the public to take precautionary measures, particularly advising children, women, and elderly citizens to avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight during peak daytime hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Citizens have been advised to stay hydrated, wear light clothing, and remain in shaded or cool environments as much as possible to reduce the risk of heat-related illnesses such as dehydration and heatstroke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Farmers have also been advised to take special care of their crops and livestock in accordance with changing weather conditions, as prolonged heat can affect agricultural productivity and animal health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Met Office warned that the ongoing heatwave may intensify further in the coming days if the high-pressure system remains stationary, which could push temperatures in parts of Sindh to extreme levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Health authorities are expected to remain on alert, with hospitals advised to prepare for a possible increase in heat-related emergencies as temperatures rise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meteorologists say such heatwave conditions are becoming increasingly frequent due to changing climate patterns, with southern Pakistan among the most affected regions during the summer season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
