Islamabad:<\/strong> Details regarding the food arrangements and expenditures for Pakistani pilgrims performing Hajj under the government scheme this year have come to light, revealing that authorities are spending billions of rupees to provide meals and related services during the pilgrimage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to official sources, more than Rs108.6 billion<\/strong> is being spent on food arrangements for Pakistani Hajj pilgrims under the official Hajj scheme. In Saudi currency, the total cost of meal services has reportedly exceeded 144.8 million Saudi Riyals<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officials said the extensive arrangements have been made to ensure that pilgrims receive fresh, hygienic, and nutritious meals throughout their stay in Saudi Arabia during the Hajj season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the current arrangements, each pilgrim is being provided meals worth 36 Saudi Riyals per day<\/strong>, which is approximately equal to Rs2,700 in Pakistani currency<\/strong>. The package includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner served daily to pilgrims staying in Makkah, Madinah, and other Hajj sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sources stated that Pakistani pilgrims are being served fresh and warm food three times a day as part of efforts to improve facilities and comfort for worshippers traveling from Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The breakfast menu includes traditional and commonly preferred food items such as paratha, eggs, tea, halwa, and toast<\/strong>. Officials said these items were selected keeping in mind the dietary preferences of Pakistani pilgrims and the nutritional needs required during physically demanding Hajj rituals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For lunch, pilgrims are reportedly being served a variety of Pakistani-style dishes including biryani, qorma, lentils, rice, and salad<\/strong>. Authorities said the meals are prepared under strict hygiene standards and are regularly monitored to maintain quality and safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officials involved in the Hajj operation stated that food contracts were finalized after careful consideration of quality standards, nutritional value, and logistical requirements.
