ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Monday condemned Houthi ballistic missile attacks targeting Saudi Arabia’s Makkah and Madina regions, including areas near the holy sites, reaffirming its commitment to the kingdom’s security under its defence cooperation agreements.

In a statement, the Foreign Office said the attacks on October 24 constituted a grave violation of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and demonstrated disregard for the sanctity of Islam’s holiest sites and the safety of civilians.

Pakistan reiterated its “unwavering solidarity” with Saudi Arabia and its commitment to the Makkah Alliance, reaffirming support for the kingdom’s security, stability and defence against external aggression or threats.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia signed a Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement in September 2025, under which an armed attack against either country is to be considered an attack against both.

The agreement aims to strengthen defence cooperation and joint deterrence against external threats, reflecting the longstanding security partnership between the two countries.

The Foreign Office also reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for protecting the Two Holy Mosques and commended Saudi air defence forces for their vigilance and efficiency in countering the attacks.

The condemnation follows reports on October 24 that the Saudi-led coalition fighting Yemen’s Houthis intercepted two ballistic missiles fired towards Taif and Yanbu.

Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defence briefly issued alerts warning residents of potential danger in Taif, Yanbu, Makkah and Jeddah. About 10 minutes later, the agency said the threat had passed.

The reported interceptions came amid renewed Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia. Two days earlier, the Houthis said they had targeted the Saudi Defence Ministry in Riyadh, facilities belonging to oil giant Saudi Aramco in Yanbu and King Fahd International Airport in Dammam.

Saudi authorities reported that two people were killed in attacks, but had not confirmed the reported strikes in Riyadh and Yanbu.

The Saudi-led coalition also said on October 22 that it had intercepted drones over Riyadh and Madina. The Houthis denied launching drones towards Madina after the coalition reported interceptions over the holy city and Saudi Arabia’s eastern region.

The renewed fighting has shattered a United Nations-brokered truce agreed in 2022 that had largely halted cross-border attacks between the Saudi-led coalition, which backs Yemen’s internationally recognised government, and the Houthis, who control the capital, Sanaa.

PAK SOUCH MEDIA GROUP

Daily Pak Souch Newspaper Sukkur – Daily Pak Special Newspaper Karachi – Daily Pak Today Newspaper Karachi – Daily Pak Jazbo Newspaper Sukkur

Head Office : Ayub Gate Shaikh Muhalla Near Rabbania Masjid Sukkur

Karachi Office : Office No. 1901-B, 19th Floor Saima Trade Tower (B) Block I.I Chandigarh Road Near Jung Press, Shaheen Complex & National Museum of Pakistan Karachi Sindh Pakistan.

Contact : 03009319022

Website 1 : https://paksouch.com/ ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Monday condemned Houthi ballistic missile attacks targeting Saudi Arabia’s Makkah and Madina regions, including areas near the holy sites, reaffirming its commitment..

[3

post-18376","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-pakistan
https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/Pak-Souch-Social-Media-Poster-2026-10-26T045820.643.png",800,947,false
https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/Pak-Souch-Social-Media-Poster-2026-10-26T045820.643-150x150.png",150,150,true
https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/Pak-Souch-Social-Media-Poster-2026-10-26T045820.643-253x300.png",253,300,true
https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/Pak-Souch-Social-Media-Poster-2026-10-26T045820.643-768x909.png",768,909,true
https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/Pak-Souch-Social-Media-Poster-2026-10-26T045820.643.png",800,947,false],"1536x1536":["https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/Pak-Souch-Social-Media-Poster-2026-10-26T045820.643.png",800,947,false],"2048x2048":["https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/Pak-Souch-Social-Media-Poster-2026-10-26T045820.643.png",800,947,false
admin
["GET
Pakistan-Saudi defence commitments
