The Punjab government has decided to introduce the Khushhaal Dihaat Act 2026′ in order to transform villages into model villages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This was decided in a special meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting agreed to immediately launch a pilot project across 120 villages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting also decided to form a ‘Village Committee’ in every village, in consultation with public representatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In this regard, Chief Minister has granted approval and sought a comprehensive plan for immediate formation of village committees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting briefed that the relevant Assistant Commissioner will head the Village Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Deputy Commissioner will oversee all Village Committees and the project as a whole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Each Village Committee will consist of four public representatives and four government representatives<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Village Committee will include the head teacher, the Union Council Secretary, a doctor from the Basic Health Unit (BHU) or ‘Maryam Nawaz Health Clinic,’ and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sewerage systems, drainage, and paved streets will be constructed in every village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Our resolve to transform all villages into ‘model villages’ remains unshakable, said Maryam Nawaz. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maryam Nawaz said development is no longer confined to major cities; its benefits will reach every single village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Local residents will be consulted regarding the development of their villages, Maryam Nawaz added. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She said the day is not far when every village in Punjab will become an exemplary model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We will ensure quality and transparency in village development at all costs\u201d, Maryam Nawaz said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She said members of the Assembly and party ticket holders will act as overseers for development projects in their respective villages. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
