Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has criticized JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman over disappointing statements, urging him to adopt a firm stance against terrorism.

In a statement issued in Karachi on Saturday, Memon said Maulana was an experienced politician whose party had also suffered losses at the hands of terrorists. He expressed hope that the JUI-F chief would stand in solidarity with the families of martyrs and innocent victims of terrorism.

Criticizing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the Sindh minister alleged that the party had lost its government due to its soft approach towards terrorists. He said innocent people continued to lose their lives and security personnel were being martyred while PTI founder Imran Khan spoke about opening offices for terrorists.

Memon further accused PTI of holding KP hostage to its confrontational politics instead of prioritizing public service and security. He said the party was now facing the consequences of its own decisions and had no one but itself to blame for the political crisis in the province.

Memon said his party had never pursued power at the expense of its principles. He added that if the PPP had been interested in power, it would have accepted federal ministries and joined the federal government.

Paying tribute to the armed forces, the minister described their officers and soldiers as the pride of the nation, saying that political interests should never be placed above national security, the sacrifices of martyrs or Pakistan’s sovereignty.
