In a significant development, Deputy Commissioner Lahore has submitted a summary to the Punjab government to finalize arrangements for Basant 2027. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The DC has proposed the government to celebrate Basant in Lahore from March 12 to 14. The kite flying will be permitted within the limits of Lahore District, excluding prohibited zones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The final approval of the dates will be granted by Punjab Cabinet. The kite flying will be allowed only when using permitted materials. Digital registration has been made mandatory for manufacturers of kites and kite strings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
DC office sources said the manufacturing of kites and kite strings will be permitted from September 5, 2026, to March 14, 2027. The purchase, transportation, and storage of kites and kite strings will be allowed starting February 1, 2027. The sale of kites and kite strings to the general public will be permitted from February 10, 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kites and kite strings may only be sold through registered shopkeepers. It will not be permitted to manufacture, purchase, store, or sell kites and kite string without registration. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
