KARACHI: The Sindhi Adabi Sangat (Women Wing) Karachi branch successfully completed its election process for the year 2026, with all office bearers being elected unopposed during a meeting held at the Arts Council Karachi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The election proceedings were conducted under the supervision of the election committee headed by Karachi Coordination Secretary Rashid Lakhmir, along with committee members Madad Ali Sindhi and Nisar Naz Rak. The elections were held in a peaceful and unanimous atmosphere, where members collectively approved the candidates for various positions without any contest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the announced results, Dr. Abida Ghanghro was elected as Secretary, while Aamna Abro was selected as Councillor. Rehana Chanar was chosen as Joint Secretary, Mithan Somro as Treasurer, and Zakia Zareen Channa as Auditor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition, several prominent literary and cultural figures were elected as members of the Executive Committee. These include Khalida Nasreen, Sultana Waqasi, Shehnaz Rahoo, Dr. Raziya Khokhar, Shehar Bano Kaka, Atiya Dawood, Saeeda Shabnam, Zeenat, Fauzia Siyal, and Nafeesa Fatima Jafri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking on the occasion, Election Committee Chairman Rashid Lakhmir and committee members Madad Ali Sindhi and Nisar Naz Rak emphasized the historic role played by the women wing of Sindhi Adabi Sangat in the promotion of Sindhi literature, preservation of the Sindhi language, and encouragement of creative expression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They said the women wing has consistently served as an important literary platform for female writers and intellectuals, providing opportunities for women to showcase their literary talent and contribute meaningfully to the development of Sindhi literature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The speakers highlighted that the women wing had organized memorable literary programs and discussions on a wide range of topics, which have become a significant part of Sindh\u2019s literary history. Through these activities, women writers have successfully expressed their emotions, social concerns, aspirations, and experiences, enriching Sindhi literature with fresh perspectives and creative voices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They further noted that literary gatherings organized by the women wing have focused on important issues including women\u2019s education, awareness, social status, cultural identity, and national consciousness. Such programs have helped strengthen intellectual dialogue and encouraged greater participation of women in literary and cultural activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The organizers stated that the increasing participation of women in literary events demonstrates that Sindhi women possess remarkable creative abilities and are playing a vital role in the literary and intellectual landscape of Sindh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Members attending the event congratulated the newly elected office bearers and expressed hope that the new leadership would continue working for the promotion of Sindhi language, literature, and culture while creating more opportunities for emerging female writers and poets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
