The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has made the process of direct recruitment of inspectors in the federal police subject to the final verdict in a pending case and issued notices to relevant officials, seeking their responses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Justice Ayaz Shaukat issued the order while hearing a petition filed by 39 sub-inspectors challenging the Ministry of Interior\u2019s notification and an advertisement issued by the Public Service Commission for direct recruitment to the rank of inspector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The court issued notices to the Interior Secretary, Islamabad Inspector General of Police, Additional IG, Chief Commissioner, Deputy Secretary (Interior) and the Public Service Commission, seeking their responses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Notices were also issued to the Attorney General and the Advocate General of Islamabad to assist the court on legal matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The petitioners\u2019 counsel argued that direct recruitment to the rank of inspector was contrary to the Police Order, contending that the law did not provide for appointments through this process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They further argued that continuing the recruitment process could lead to appointments in violation of legal procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The court has scheduled the next hearing of the petition for October 28.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
