{"id":17411,"date":"2026-10-09T11:54:19","date_gmt":"2026-10-09T11:54:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/paksouch.com\/?p=17411"},"modified":"2026-10-09T11:54:20","modified_gmt":"2026-10-09T11:54:20","slug":"three-police-personnel-go-missing-in-nowshera","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/paksouch.com\/?p=17411","title":{"rendered":"Three police personnel go missing in Nowshera"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NOWSHERA: Three police personnel, including a station clerk and two constables, have gone missing in Nowshera district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with police suspecting they may have been abducted by the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to an information report registered by the station house officer (SHO) of Nizam Pur police station, the incident occurred at around 4pm on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The missing personnel were identified as clerk Naeemullah and constables Aamir and Noor Islam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Police launch search operation<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The report said the station clerk received a telephone call informing him that suspected militants were present in the mountainous area along the Kohat boundary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Naeemullah subsequently left for the Piran area near the Kohat boundary in a private car, accompanied by the two constables, to conduct surveillance, according to the report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At around 6pm, staff from Gambat police station in Kohat district informed the Nizam Pur SHO that personnel deployed at a police picket or mobile unit had been taken away by suspected TTP militants operating in Kohat, the report said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The incident was reported to senior police officials, while efforts to recover the missing personnel were launched.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Police said a substantial contingent reached the area and conducted a search operation throughout the night. However, the mountainous terrain posed difficulties for the operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additional police and security personnel have since been deployed in the hilly areas along the Nowshera-Kohat boundary, according to police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Talks under way for recovery<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Separately, sources said negotiations between local elders and the TTP had begun in an effort to secure the personnel\u2019s release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The suspected abduction comes amid a series of attacks targeting police and security personnel in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. On October 7, four personnel were injured when unidentified assailants opened fire on a police checkpoint in Kohat district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On September 28, three traffic police personnel were killed and two passers-by injured in a firing incident targeting a traffic police vehicle in Wazirabad, Tank district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier, a suicide bombing and firing at a checkpoint in Dera Ismail Khan district on September 26 killed 12 people and injured 35, according to the supplied report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A suicide bombing at a mosque inside the Old Police Lines in Kohat during Friday prayers on September 16 also killed 15 police personnel and six civilians, while 103 people were injured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, security forces have continued operations against militants under the Azm-e-Istehkam Vision.
