Iran has announced that it has developed a new mechanism to regulate maritime activities in the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, a key global shipping route through which a significant portion of the world\u2019s oil and gas supplies pass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Ibrahim Azizi, head of the Iranian Parliament\u2019s National Security Commission, Tehran has prepared a professional traffic-control system for ships operating along routes designated by Iran in the Strait of Hormuz.
