Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has welcomed Jamaat-e-Islami chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman\u2019s offer to mediate between the two parties over the possibility of Governor\u2019s Rule or an emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Barrister Gohar said he was grateful to Hafiz Naeemur Rehman for offering to mediate and stressed that the PTI wanted democracy to be strengthened. He said non-democratic actions should be discouraged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The PTI chairman said the federal government should not choose the path of imposing Governor\u2019s Rule or an emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He warned that such a step could further worsen the situation in the province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe will condemn Governor\u2019s Rule,\u201d Barrister Gohar said, adding that the PTI would use every available option if such a measure were imposed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said, however, that the party had not yet decided to resign from the National Assembly in the event of Governor\u2019s Rule. He added the National Assembly was formed on the mandate of PTI founder Imran Khan, and that mandate should be respected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also reiterated that the PTI\u2019s planned October 4 long march would remain peaceful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
