Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has ordered authorities to accelerate action against cybercrime, directing the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) to give priority to complaints involving online harassment, blackmailing and digital exploitation of women and children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Naqvi issued the directives during his visit to the NCCIA Central Zone Headquarters in Lahore, where he chaired a special meeting to review ongoing cybercrime operations and investigations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the visit, the interior minister inspected the complaints cell, forensic lab and investigation wing. He also reviewed the entire process from the registration of citizens\u2019 complaints to investigations and action against alleged offenders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Naqvi directed officials to examine pending cases and complaints on a case-by-case basis and eliminate unnecessary delays. He said citizens should not have to wait for months after filing a complaint and that timely progress should be visible on every case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The interior minister directed officials to intensify action against online financial fraud, harassment and organized cybercrime networks. He ordered indiscriminate action against elements involved in financial fraud, fake accounts, digital blackmailing and online harassment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Naqvi said cybercriminals should be brought under the law regardless of where they operate from.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also directed the NCCIA to make its response system for financial fraud complaints more effective so that immediate coordination with relevant institutions could help protect affected citizens\u2019 money and improve the chances of tracing those allegedly involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The minister ordered the agency to strengthen its digital forensic capabilities, increase the use of modern forensic tools and provide specialized training to investigation officers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said emerging cybercrime methods could not be effectively tackled through traditional investigation alone and stressed the need for modern technology and trained personnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Naqvi gave special instructions regarding complaints involving women and children, directing the NCCIA to give priority to cases related to online harassment, blackmailing and digital exploitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also directed the agency to make public awareness campaigns against cybercrime more effective and ensure that citizens are informed in time about new methods of fraud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The interior minister said the protection of citizens\u2019 data, privacy and financial interests was an important responsibility of the NCCIA. He directed that the agency be provided with modern technology, necessary resources and training to fulfil this responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Naqvi said the NCCIA should be developed into a specialized cyber police force capable of using modern technology to provide greater protection to citizens in the digital space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The DG NCCIA briefed the interior minister on the performance of the Central Zone, pending cases under investigation, cyber fraud trends and ongoing operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The DG FIA, Inspector General of Islamabad Police, Director FIA Lahore Zone and other relevant officials were also present during the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
