Raising questions over the KP Police Act, 2026 passed by the provincial cabinet on September 23, Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday said that under the law, seeking KP Assembly speaker\u2019s permission was necessary before arresting an MPA.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a post uploaded on X platform, Mohsin Naqvi said that the law made it binding on the police to seek permission from the speaker even if an MPA was wanted in connection with a criminal case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWill the police still await the speaker\u2019s nod if an MPA has committed murder?\u201d he questioned. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhy is there a separate law for MPs in KP,\u201d the minister questioned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIs this the concept of the \u2018State of Medina\u2019 in the eyes of PTI leaders?\u201d Naqvi questioned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
