ISLAMABAD: Kasim Khan, son of former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has urged the public not to march towards or protest near Adiala Jail, warning that such a gathering could put his father\u2019s life at risk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a post on X, Kasim said he had been instructed to ask the public not to attempt to march or protest near the jail on the day of the planned PTI mobilisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019ve been instructed to call on the public not to attempt to march or protest nearby Adiala jail on 27 March,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kasim said he had heard from sources that a protest could be used as an excuse for a possible \u201ccounter\u201d assault on the jail, where his father is being held.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said such an action could endanger Imran Khan\u2019s life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019ve heard from sources that this may be used as an excuse for the establishment to launch a \u2018counter\u2019 assault on the jail \u2026 which could endanger his life,\u201d Kasim said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He urged the public not to provide any reason for incidents that could put his father at risk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPlease do not give them any reasons for \u2018accidents\u2019 to happen to my father during the protest,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The appeal comes as PTI has announced an Islamabad long march in support of Imran Khan\u2019s release and other demands. The Punjab government has imposed Section 144 across the province, while Rangers have been called in Islamabad and several cities in Punjab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Several PTI leaders and workers, along with Imran Khan\u2019s three sisters, have also been detained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kasim has previously expressed concerns<\/a> about his father\u2019s health in interviews with international media organisations.
