{"id":16384,"date":"2026-09-24T05:59:46","date_gmt":"2026-09-24T05:59:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/paksouch.com\/?p=16384"},"modified":"2026-09-24T05:59:47","modified_gmt":"2026-09-24T05:59:47","slug":"weinstein-resentenced-to-15-years-in-prison-for-assault","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/paksouch.com\/?p=16384","title":{"rendered":"Weinstein resentenced to 15 years in prison for assault"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NEW YORK: Disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, who was at the centre of abuse allegations that spurred the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/trends\/MeToo\">#MeToo<\/a> movement, was resentenced on Wednesday to 15 years in prison for sexually assaulting a former production assistant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Weinstein, 74, forcibly performed oral sex in 2006 on Miriam Haley, one of dozens of women who have made accusations against the <em>Pulp Fiction<\/em> and <em>Shakespeare in Love<\/em> producer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years in 2020 for the sexual assault, but it was overturned on appeal in 2024. A jury found him <a href=\"https:\/\/images.dawn.com\/news\/1193731\/disgraced-producer-harvey-weinstein-found-guilty-of-sexual-assault-in-retrial-verdict\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">guilty again<\/a> in 2025 after a retrial in New York.
