Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday extended felicitations to Saudi Arabia\u2019s leadership and people on the kingdom\u2019s National Day, reaffirming Pakistan\u2019s commitment to its longstanding ties with Riyadh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a message posted on X, PM Shehbaz congratulated King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the Saudi people, saying the kingdom\u2019s progress and transformation were a source of pride and admiration for Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said Saudi Arabia was continuing to make strides towards greater prosperity, modernisation and innovation under the leadership of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
PM Shehbaz described Pakistan\u2019s relationship with Saudi Arabia as a \u201chistoric and time-tested brotherhood\u201d rooted in shared faith, mutual trust and close ties between the two peoples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said the relationship was developing into a stronger strategic partnership based on a shared commitment to peace, security and the unity of the Muslim Ummah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The prime minister also highlighted the signing of the Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement and the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement between the two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
PM Shehbaz reiterated Pakistan\u2019s condemnation of recent Houthi attacks against Saudi Arabia, particularly what he described as an attempted drone attack targeting Makkah Al-Mukarramah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAny threat to the sanctity and security of the Haramain Sharifain deeply wounds the sentiments of Muslims across the world,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
PM Shehbaz reaffirmed Pakistan\u2019s support for Saudi Arabia in safeguarding its sovereignty and security, as well as the sanctity of Islam\u2019s holiest sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The prime minister expressed hope that Pakistan-Saudi Arabia ties would continue to strengthen, concluding his message with a reaffirmation of the two countries\u2019 longstanding brotherhood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
