Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has emphasised the need to make civil service recruitment more inclusive and domain-specific.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was presiding over a multi-party consultative session on civil service reforms in Islamabad on Saturday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Minister said that the civil service must establish meritocratic leadership by linking appointments and promotions more closely with competence and demonstrated performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said digital literacy has become indispensable for public administration and civil servants must be prepared to use artificial intelligence to improve decision-making, productivity and public service delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On this occasion, Ahsan Iqbal highlighted a framework for civil service reforms aimed at building a specialised, merit-based, accountable and technology-enabled public administration capable of responding effectively to Pakistan’s contemporary development challenges. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
