Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday announced a \u201crelief scheme\u201d for users of motorcycles, autos and vehicles of up to 800cc to \u201calleviate the burden\u201d of rising global oil prices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the crisis in the Strait of Hormuz due to the US-Iran war, trade via Bab al-Mandab<\/a> \u2014 which has become a vital route for Saudi oil exports<\/a> in recent months \u2014 is also facing a rising threat<\/a> from Houthi rebels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A statement issued by the Prime Minister\u2019s Office (PMO) on Sunday said the premier took \u201cimmediate notice of the recent tensions in the Middle East and the resulting surge in global oil prices, which is placing an increased burden on the public\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe government is fully aware of the burden being placed on the public due to the increase in oil prices.
