According to sources in the Ministry of Energy, nearly 32% of the price of petrol per liter consists of taxes<\/strong>, while around 21% of diesel prices is made up of taxes and duties<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For petrol, the breakdown shows that Rs 129.72 per liter<\/strong> is included in various taxes. This includes Rs 23.72 as customs duty<\/strong>, while Rs 103.50 is petroleum levy<\/strong>. In addition, a climate support levy of Rs 2.50 per liter<\/strong> is also applied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For diesel, sources said that Rs 82.81 per liter<\/strong> is collected in taxes. This includes Rs 51.62 as customs duty<\/strong>, while Rs 28.69 is charged as petroleum levy<\/strong>.
