Peshawar: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi has said that he welcomes constructive criticism but claims that whenever he raises his voice, it is turned into \u201cdrama.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking at a ceremony, the chief minister said that Phase One of the Missing Link Road project has been completed, while work on other phases is ongoing but facing land-related issues. He added that the government will not acquire land unlawfully for development projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Afridi stated that a development package worth Rs 200 billion has been allocated for Peshawar, and feasibility work on the Outer Ring Road is also nearing completion. He remarked that criticism began as soon as the Rs 200 billion plan was announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said, \u201cWe openly invite everyone to offer constructive criticism for improvement,\u201d adding that around Rs 500 billion of the province\u2019s annual funds are being \u201cmisused,\u201d and those responsible are benefiting while he is being criticized for speaking out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The chief minister further claimed that Rs 1,375 billion from the province\u2019s share in the NFC Award has already been \u201cconsumed.\u201d He said the provincial government opposed the seventh NFC Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Highlighting energy issues, Afridi said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa consumes 150 MMCFD gas but contributes 250 MMCFD to the national system. He argued that despite this contribution, the province is not receiving its due rights.
