K-Electric attributed the outage to a cable fault.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The power failure affected the <strong>third phase, fourth phase and K-III pump house<\/strong>. As a result, <strong>10 out of 21 pumps<\/strong> at the pumping station became non-operational.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Water Corporation warned that the shutdown of 10 pumps could partially affect water supply to Karachi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Officials said they were in continuous contact with K-Electric management to restore electricity as soon as possible. Once power is restored, the affected pumps will be brought back into operation immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Water Corporation said water supply to the affected areas would return to normal after electricity is restored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">K-Electric&#8217;s Statement<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">K-Electric said that a <strong>fire in bushes damaged cables belonging to the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation<\/strong>, leading to the disruption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to K-Electric&#8217;s spokesperson, its technical team was present at the location where the fire damaged the Water Corporation&#8217;s cables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">K-Electric said it was also in continuous coordination with the Water Corporation to ensure the electricity supply was restored as quickly as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The power disruption is being closely monitored because Dhabeji is a major source of water supply for Karachi.
