The U.S. delegation strongly opposed Iran\u2019s appointment, with American representative Christopher Yeaw calling the move \u201can insult to the Non-Proliferation Treaty.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In response, Iran\u2019s representative Reza Najafi rejected the U.S. remarks, describing them as baseless and politically motivated.
