A delegation of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, led by Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, met Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and invited him to participate in a proposed All Parties Conference (APC) as well as PTI\u2019s upcoming protest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The PTI delegation visited Maulana Fazlur Rehman\u2019s residence for the meeting. Barrister Gohar led the delegation, which included senior PTI leaders Salman Akram Raja, Asad Qaiser and Firdous Shamim Naqvi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
JUI-F leaders Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri and Maulana Asad Mahmood also attended the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to a statement issued after the meeting, the participants discussed the proposed All Parties Conference being organized under the platform of the Tehreek Tahafuz-e-Aain Pakistan (TTAP)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The meeting also focused on PTI\u2019s September 27 protest call, the rule of law and the supremacy of the Constitution. The leaders exchanged views on the political and constitutional situation in the country and discussed the need for greater coordination among opposition political parties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to the statement, the participants held detailed discussions on strengthening the constitutional and democratic system in Pakistan. They also emphasized the importance of political parties consulting one another and pursuing a joint political struggle on issues concerning democracy and constitutional governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The PTI delegation\u2019s meeting with Fazlur Rehman is significant because the JUI-F chief has maintained an independent political position while engaging with various opposition parties on constitutional and democratic issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The invitation to the APC is part of PTI\u2019s efforts to bring different political forces together on a common platform.
