GUJRANWALA:<\/strong> Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Member of the National Assembly Mahmood Bashir Virk has passed away, according to his family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lawmaker, who belonged to Gujranwala, had been battling cancer and was receiving treatment at a hospital in Lahore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Family members confirmed Mahmood Bashir Virk\u2019s death and said that he had been undergoing treatment for the disease for some time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His funeral prayer was offered on Thursday morning, according to his family, after which he was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The death of the PML-N parliamentarian was met with condolences from political leaders and colleagues, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressing deep sorrow over his passing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his condolence message, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif described Mahmood Bashir Virk as a sincere, capable and active parliamentarian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
