{"id":15142,"date":"2026-09-10T09:26:17","date_gmt":"2026-09-10T09:26:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/paksouch.com\/?p=15142"},"modified":"2026-09-10T09:26:18","modified_gmt":"2026-09-10T09:26:18","slug":"pti-opposes-referendum-on-new-provinces-says-shafi-jan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/paksouch.com\/?p=15142","title":{"rendered":"PTI Opposes Referendum on New Provinces, Says Shafi Jan"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Peshawar: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shafiullah Jan has said that his party will not support holding a referendum on the issue of new provinces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking on Geo News\u2019 programme <em>Capital Talk<\/em>, Shafiullah Jan said PTI was also opposed to using a referendum to decide the provinces issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Minister of State Barrister Aqeel Malik, however, argued in favour of a referendum, saying that the Constitution provides a procedure for conducting one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PPP leader Palwasha Khan questioned whether a referendum could replace the constitutional procedure for creating new provinces.
