{"id":15075,"date":"2026-09-09T14:14:57","date_gmt":"2026-09-09T14:14:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/paksouch.com\/?p=15075"},"modified":"2026-09-09T14:14:58","modified_gmt":"2026-09-09T14:14:58","slug":"al-qaeda-supporting-bla-and-ttp-for-terrorism-in-pakistan-un-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/paksouch.com\/?p=15075","title":{"rendered":"Al-Qaeda Supporting BLA and TTP for Terrorism in Pakistan: UN Report"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>UNITED NATIONS:<\/strong> A United Nations report says links between militant networks operating from Afghanistan and terrorist activities in Pakistan are increasing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the report, after Al-Qaeda fighters left Afghanistan in 2001, many moved to Pakistan\u2019s tribal areas, where the banned <strong>Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)<\/strong> provided them shelter. Their relationship reportedly became stronger after the Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The UN report says Al-Qaeda has assisted the TTP in strengthening its <strong>strategy, training and propaganda capabilities<\/strong>. In April this year, Al-Qaeda\u2019s media wing reportedly openly supported the TTP\u2019s activities against Pakistan for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Experts cited in the report say cooperation between the two groups ranges from operational assistance at lower levels to greater alignment in their narratives at senior levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The report further states that Al-Qaeda\u2019s support is not limited to the TTP. It also extends to groups including the banned <strong>Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA)<\/strong> and <strong>Ittehad-ul-Mujahideen Pakistan<\/strong>. Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent is reportedly providing training and strategic assistance to the latter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The UN has previously described Al-Qaeda as a <strong>\u201cservice provider\u201d<\/strong> for militant groups operating in Afghanistan, providing training, advice and logistical support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, experts note that Al-Qaeda and the TTP have differences in their objectives and strategies, while ideological similarities continue to facilitate cooperation in areas such as media, propaganda, training and logistics.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UNITED NATIONS: A United Nations report says links between militant networks operating from Afghanistan and terrorist activities in Pakistan are increasing.
