{"id":14970,"date":"2026-09-09T09:35:58","date_gmt":"2026-09-09T09:35:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/paksouch.com\/?p=14970"},"modified":"2026-09-09T09:35:58","modified_gmt":"2026-09-09T09:35:58","slug":"yemen-attacks-on-saudi-arabia-will-activate-mecca-joint-defence-pact-khawaja-asif","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/paksouch.com\/?p=14970","title":{"rendered":"Yemen Attacks on Saudi Arabia Will Activate Mecca Joint Defence Pact: Khawaja Asif"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>ISLAMABAD:<\/strong>&nbsp;Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that attacks on Saudi Arabia from Yemen will activate the joint defence agreement between&nbsp;<strong>Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and T\u00fcrkiye<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking on the television programme&nbsp;<em>Aaj Shahzaib Khanzada Kay Saath<\/em>, Khawaja Asif said Pakistan was obligated to provide assistance under the agreement, adding that there should be no doubt about the country\u2019s commitment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He reiterated that the attacks on Saudi Arabia from Yemen would trigger the provisions of the joint defence pact between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and T\u00fcrkiye.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the defence minister, under the&nbsp;<strong>trilateral Mecca agreement<\/strong>, aggression against one of the three countries would be considered aggression against all three.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The statement comes after Yemen\u2019s Houthi movement, Ansar Allah, carried out attacks on the Saudi cities of&nbsp;<strong>Abha, Khamis Mushait, Najran and Jazan<\/strong>, targeting civilian and economic infrastructure. The attacks reportedly left&nbsp;<strong>73 people injured<\/strong>, including women and children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prime Minister&nbsp;<strong>Shehbaz Sharif<\/strong>&nbsp;condemned the Houthi attacks in Saudi Arabia, saying that such attacks not only threaten innocent lives but also undermine regional peace and security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan\u2019s continued support for the&nbsp;<strong>sovereignty, security and territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also expressed solidarity with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques,&nbsp;<strong>King Salman bin Abdulaziz<\/strong>, Crown Prince&nbsp;<strong>Mohammed bin Salman<\/strong>, and the people of Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD:&nbsp;Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that attacks on Saudi Arabia from Yemen will activate the joint defence agreement between&nbsp;Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and T\u00fcrkiye.
