Renowned scholars, faculty members and students attended the event, which focused on the timeless philosophy of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai and the importance of preserving Sindhi language, literature and culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Presiding over the ceremony, <strong>Vice Chancellor Meritorious Professor Dr. Yousuf Khushk<\/strong> described Shah Latif as an enduring thinker and cultural leader whose poetry continues to provide light and guidance to society across generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He urged students to learn from the experiences of their elders while preparing themselves to meet the challenges of the future. He said Shah Latif\u2019s poetry serves as a guiding light, and understanding its wisdom, applying its message in practical life and sharing it with others is essential for collective social wellbeing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Vice Chancellor particularly encouraged students of <strong>Artificial Intelligence (AI)<\/strong> to develop a technology-based museum highlighting Shah Latif\u2019s philosophy and artistic legacy. He suggested that the proposed museum could feature material related to Shah Latif\u2019s various <em>Surs<\/em>, along with information and displays about birds, trees and other elements of nature mentioned in his poetry that are becoming increasingly rare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr. Yousuf Khushk said students who succeeded in establishing such a unique museum would be remembered for their creative contribution. He assured them that the university and other institutions would extend support for such an initiative. The museum, he added, could also include basic information about the Sindhi language, explanations of words and recordings of traditional music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The keynote speaker, <strong>Dr. Shazia Patafi<\/strong>, Associate Professor in the Department of Sindhi and Director of the Dr. Nabi Bakhsh Khan Baloch Chair at the University of Sindh, Jamshoro, said people from diverse backgrounds love and respect Shah Latif. She emphasized that his contribution to preserving, enriching and developing the Sindhi language was unparalleled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr. Patafi said that society cannot progress without the development of individuals, adding that the concept of collective progress is clearly reflected in Shah Latif\u2019s poetry. His message, she said, encourages people to step beyond their comfort zones, face challenges courageously and use available resources to move forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Calling Shah Latif the poet of ordinary people, she said his poetry gives the common person a voice, strength and dignity. She noted that Persian enjoyed considerable prominence during Shah Latif\u2019s era, yet he played an extraordinary role in developing Sindhi as a literary language and expanding its expressive possibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Referring to the character of <strong>Marvi<\/strong>, Dr. Patafi highlighted the values of courage, steadfastness and unwavering attachment to one\u2019s identity and homeland reflected in Shah Latif\u2019s poetry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Dr. Allah Wassayo Soomro<\/strong>, Head of the Department of Sindhi and host of the event, delivered the welcome address. Traditional <strong>Ajraks<\/strong> were presented to distinguished guests as a gesture of respect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking on the occasion, renowned writer <strong>Mukhtiar Malik<\/strong> described Shah Latif as a powerful symbol of Sindh\u2019s intellectual and spiritual identity and discussed the continuing relevance of his poetry in the modern era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Professor Dr. Ibrahim Kurl<\/strong> described Shah Latif\u2019s poetry as a profound expression of human emotions, social consciousness and the realities of life. Educationist <strong>Dr. Rukiya Aamir<\/strong> highlighted Shah Latif\u2019s messages of love, tolerance, humanity and social harmony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Former Chairman of the Department of Sindhi, <strong>Dr. Mehr Khadim<\/strong>, discussed the philosophical depth of Shah Latif\u2019s thought and his extraordinary contribution to the development of Sindhi language and literature.
