HYDERABAD:<\/strong> Chairman of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has said that Pakistan is the country\u2019s indivisible homeland, while all other regions should be regarded as administrative units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing a Defence Day and Martyrs\u2019 Day ceremony in Hyderabad, Siddiqui said there should be clarity among the public that Pakistan was the homeland and could not be divided, while the provinces and other regions constituted administrative units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said political power had effectively moved from one feudal group to another, arguing that the country\u2019s political system had remained trapped in the hands of influential elites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPower has moved from one feudal lord to another and become trapped there,\u201d Siddiqui said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MQM-P chairman also spoke about the country\u2019s political decision-making process, saying that when decisions were not made through institutions, people eventually took their grievances to the streets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen decisions do not come, decisions are made on the streets,\u201d he said, adding that MQM had experience of witnessing political developments and movements on the streets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Siddiqui said the issue of Pakistan\u2019s political and administrative structure should be clearly settled before the public. He reiterated that Pakistan was the indivisible homeland and that the various regions of the country should be treated as administrative units rather than as separate entities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Discussing the 18th Constitutional Amendment, he said MQM had participated in the constitutional process for a specific reason. According to Siddiqui, even if MQM had not participated, Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz would have been able to pass the amendment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said MQM\u2019s involvement in the constitutional process was intended to ensure that its position and concerns were represented during discussions on the amendment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Siddiqui made the remarks while addressing a gathering held to commemorate Defence Day and honor Pakistan\u2019s martyrs. The event brought together party leaders, workers and supporters to pay tribute to those who had sacrificed their lives in the defence of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He emphasized the importance of national unity and said political and administrative differences should not be allowed to undermine the unity of Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Federal Minister Mustafa Kamal, speaking at the same ceremony, made remarks about Pakistan\u2019s changing position in international affairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kamal claimed that Pakistanis had little international influence a year ago, but said the country\u2019s standing had changed significantly and that major global powers were now looking toward Pakistan\u2019s leadership to help resolve their problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSuperpowers are looking toward Pakistan\u2019s Field Marshal and Prime Minister to resolve their issues,\u201d Kamal said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The federal minister further claimed that Pakistan had played a role in preventing a third world war and said the country was now able to engage with major powers from a position of confidence and dignity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said Pakistan today speaks to superpowers \u201ceye to eye\u201d and with respect, describing this as evidence of a significant improvement in the country\u2019s international standing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kamal praised Pakistan\u2019s armed forces and political leadership for what he described as their role in strengthening the country\u2019s position on the international stage. He said the nation should recognize the sacrifices of its armed forces and remain united in the face of challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Defence Day ceremony provided an opportunity for MQM-P leaders to discuss national unity, political representation and Pakistan\u2019s role in regional and international affairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Siddiqui\u2019s comments focused primarily on the country\u2019s internal political and administrative structure, while Kamal highlighted what he described as Pakistan\u2019s growing diplomatic and strategic importance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both leaders stressed the importance of national strength and unity, with the event also serving as a tribute to Pakistan\u2019s martyrs and military personnel who have served the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their remarks come amid ongoing political debates over governance, provincial administration, constitutional arrangements and the distribution of political power in Pakistan. MQM-P has frequently raised questions concerning administrative structures and governance, particularly in the context of urban Sindh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
