The committee will submit its report to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Sources said the prime minister will take the final decision regarding the future administrative structure of PIMS after reviewing the committee\u2019s recommendations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the major proposals under consideration is the establishment of a Board of Governors<\/strong> to oversee the affairs of PIMS. According to sources, the proposed board would include individuals from different walks of life, including professionals and experts with relevant experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The proposed governance structure is expected to provide greater oversight of the hospital\u2019s administrative and operational matters. The move comes amid renewed scrutiny of PIMS following a tragic fire incident that resulted in the deaths of 14 newborn babies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The incident has raised serious questions about safety arrangements, hospital management, emergency preparedness and accountability at the country\u2019s major public-sector medical institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Following the tragedy, eight officials, including the Executive Director of PIMS, were suspended.
