Pakistan\u2019s armed forces on Sunday warned that any aggression would draw a \u201cswift and decisive response\u201d, as military leaders, including the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, paid tribute to the country\u2019s martyrs on the 61st Defence and Martyrs\u2019 Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military\u2019s media wing, said the armed forces remained \u201cfully prepared\u201d to defend Pakistan\u2019s sovereignty, territorial integrity and national interests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The military reaffirmed that Pakistan seeks \u201cpeace, stability and prosperity in the region\u201d and remains committed to \u201cresponsible conduct and peaceful coexistence\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis commitment, however, must never be mistaken for weakness,\u201d the military said, adding that any aggression against Pakistan would be met with a \u201cswift and decisive response\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
CDF Munir, along with Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Commander National Strategic Command General Syed Aamer Raza and the armed forces, paid \u201cprofound tribute\u201d to the Shuhada of Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They also extended their \u201cdeepest respect and gratitude\u201d to the Ghazis and families of the martyrs, according to ISPR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The military said September 6 remained an \u201cenduring symbol of national unity, courage and resolve\u201d, recalling how the Pakistani nation stood as one in defence of the motherland during the 1965 war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe Shuhada of Pakistan embody the highest ideals of honour, duty and sacrifice,\u201d ISPR said, paying tribute to generations of defenders who made the ultimate sacrifice across the battlefields, skies and seas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The military said their legacy continued to inspire future generations, while the families of the Shuhada remained symbols of \u201cfortitude and resilience\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The armed forces also saluted the Ghazis for guarding the country\u2019s frontiers with \u201cvalour, steadfastness and distinguished service\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Defence and Martyrs\u2019 Day, the military renewed its \u201csolemn pledge\u201d of unwavering devotion to Pakistan and its people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe supreme sacrifices of our Shuhada, the spirit of our Ghazis and the fortitude of their families will forever remain a source of national strength and pride,\u201d ISPR said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
